Hi b00st3d. Can you clarify how you have things connected with your WD TV Live box and the ReadyNAS? I currently have a ReadyNAS NV+ (4.1.7) and Sony Blu-Ray BDP-BX57 connected to the same wired network. I've enabled the "iTunes Streaming Server", which I'm using to stream MP3s to workstations using Firefly; I've enabled "ReadyDLNA" and pointed it to my Photos, Music and Video shares, which has allowed the Blu-Ray player to stream MP3s and display photos. However, when I browse the NAS to stream video, I can see the folder structure but I get a "there is no playable file" error. I know that AVIs, MP4s, MOVs, and WMVs exist on the Video share (and the Sony Blu-Ray is supposed to support AVI). I then enabled "Home Media Streaming Server" and pointed it to my Video share. No change.
So I am interested in understanding how I can stream video content from the NV+ to my TV without relocating media to another dedicated machine. It sounds like you accomplished this with the WD TV Live device and the wireless dongle. I would prefer to go all wired with any solution ... better yet, I would prefer not to have to "add" anything ...
Any suggestions? I've been reviewing the forum, User Guide, Definitive Guide, etc. for some time and feel like I'm missing something ...
