In the meantime, let me share something with you. Put a 10 db and a 6db attenuator produced by mini circuits in the digital line and sound improved quite a bit.
As a electronic engineer with 20+ years experience in digital design and digital communication systems I find this extremely difficult to believe - sorry *impossible* to believe - unless the Touch or your DAC are an extremely badly designed product.
