wlan is the best of the two evils according to me. You are going to get noise in from the power supply of the switch / router as well. These power supply units are usually switching power supplies. If you connect a linear power supply to the touch and use wlan, the results may be better. I am happy with this set up. The other option is to get a linear power supply for the switch as well. Something not too expensive, perhaps. That way everything is with a linear power supply and this should reduce the noise associated with switching power supplies!
