Streaming options NV+ v1?

Hi!

I'm new to readynas after I got the unit called readynas nv+ v1 (figured out since it is the silver chassi).

I've setup the machine and it's seems to work at least when i'm connected with my laptop or iphone in my own network. I've also managed to install transmission for bittorrent and downloaded a file through. I can browse my share and it's folders in the RNRemote Iphone APP however when watchin a movie it seems that the movie will be downloaded to my phone. Instead I would like to stream the movie from the nas to my iphone, ipad, mac or windows pc and from there maybe airplay it to Appletv 3 (non jailbroken).

I've read about something called airvideo server and airvideo iphone app but unfortunetaly it seems that the air video is not supported by nv+ v1 cpu.
I've also seen plex but that seems to only be supported by x86 cput.

What alternatives do I have for streaming (should support subtitles) from this NAS to my devices? What addons can I install and what Iphone/Ipad, mac or windows apps can I download? It would be great if the streaming server software could decode the movie format on the fly to work on the devices (maybe this is called transcoding or?). Also I would like to be able to do the streaming when I'm not connected to my NAS network directly.

Apreciate any help
Best regards.

The problem is that I've tried many player apps (more than 10) like oplayer, avplayerhd, goodplayer etc etc and they all cannot stream video trhrough airplay only audio. I thought it might be a restriction from apple regarding airplay but not sure.
It is always challenging in the land of iDevices when you want to go beyond what Apple thinks you should do

Yes true as long as you go outside the apple domain you are screwed. I'm starting to think that I might either find an apple tv 2 that can be jailbroken or chnage to another media machine like boxee or similar. I think it's said that apple hasn't come up with a NAS (in my opinion time capsule is missing a lot comapre to a NAS).
