Stuck on Installing FW X-raid2 Mode
So We've had a NAS RN104 for about 2 years now and have decided to upgrade to the RN204 and I can't for the life of me get this thing to work. It's brand new out of the box for a week. I've got 4 x...

Which firmware is this running? You may wish to update the firmware if the unit is running old firmware.
You may also wish to have a look at the compatibility list: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20641

It;s got 6.3.5 Firmware on it which is the latest I think. I upgraded it as soon as I could log into it.
I have checked that list, however it doesn't have any Samsung SSD's on it at all.
I can only assume they just haven't tested any Samsung drives yet, because these are not cheap drives at $350 each

Hello fearlesss,
Samsung SSD MZ - 7TD120 120GB is the one on the list. I see 250GB as the largest SSD disk capacity it supports.
Not sure if the disk as large as 512GB should work with the fact that the ReadyNAS 200 series is a consumer product.

I see no technical reason for it to fail though, since the SATA interface is the same, and the RN200 happily takes 6 TB disks.
Is there something specific about SSDs which is worrying you?

Hi fearlesss,
512GB should still work with the consumer series 200, it will get faster disk speed. We're waiting for the updated HCL.

Yup it seems to be working no worries with all 5 drives now so all good,
Do I have to close this thread or accept it as been resolved ?

Please do accept as a solution. Consider a kudos for JennC.
There's no other process for "closing" a thread (though mods can lock them, we generally don't).
