when you are accessing the PRO from multiple clients, then teaming will improve overall throughput. Not sure exactly how much though. It won't help at all if you are only accessing the PRO from one device.
It's quite easy to do, and I haven't had any trouble with it. If you disconnect one of the cables (for instance), it fails over to normal ethernet.
I have the PRO set to 802.3ad LACP layer 2+3.
On the GS724T I set up a lag group named PRO which has the 2 switch ports as members and has LAG type LACP.
