Time machine keeps creating a new backup
My TM keeps saying it can't verify backup and needs to create a new one, not sure on the gap in between a new one being finished and the next but it's not long and it takes 2 days to create it so effe...

The cloning lowers the odds of data loss, and increases availability (you can still access your data if one drive fails). But there are many ways that you can still lose your data - lots of sad stories in the forum from people who thought RAID meant they didn't need backups. Some of these ways include (a) failure of the ReadyNAS itself, (b) failure of both drives (which is more common than you might think), (c) human error, (d) theft, fire, flood or similar disaster.
