@mdgm: Thanks for the hint. I'm now not quite sure if I should try it with the beta 4.1.13 or not...
...because I think that I've found the solution:
- because I'm using also Windows PCs, CIFS protocol was already enabled on DUO
- activating TM is enabling AFP itself, but TM application is apparently using the smb/CIFS address instead of afp
- this means that the volume itself seems to be available, but as soon as data should be written, it breaks and the volume is not available anymore
- I did some tests enabling/disabling CIFS and AFP and browsing for available volumes.
- Finally, TM works now fine. But I had to disable CIFS before the first setup of TM. So TM is using the AFP address.
- I enabled CIFS afterwards again. However, I can't say that it will conflict with AFP again or not. Let's wait for the next few backups...
