Yes, I thought it too, but I set up a 2nd MacBook for Time Machine with "my" procedure and it works perfectly using my workaround.
Again: if you have CIFS enabled during the setup of TM, the wrong address is used. The backup will never run...
Solution: disable CIFS, set up TM on the Mac, run the first backup, enable CIFS again.
