UI offline after attempt uninstall app on 6.2.1
After my update I did not seem to have a problem. My problem occurred after installing then uninstalling the application 'Contacts and Calendars Server'. I can now no longer log into the admin web page at all. When I try to get to it via a browser, it says it does not connect. There is no login window that pops up, nothing. I have no access to controlling the RN104 any more. I can see my files on the various shares but but I cannot access the admin interface at all.
Problems did occur after a reboot after uninstalling the app. During the uninstall, the process kept "spinning" (would disconnect from the device and said it could not access it. That went on for about a half hour.) During that time I did not have access to the UI. I tried closing the browser and reopen it, but that did not let me have access to the UI. I then reboot and I then got messages that said that the browser could not connect. It would not even come up with a login window. And that is where I am now. No control to the RN104, but i still have access to the data. I only have the antivirus and the SMB apps installed. (If you don't count the calendar/contact app that did not uninstall that started this whole string of events for me.)

- nsneVirtuosoYou'll have to call Netgear tech support and have them remotely access your system to remove the offending files/symlinks.
To allow the tech remote access, you will have to access the Tech Support mode from the Boot Menu. Instructions on how to access that are here (if you're using an RN102 like your profile says): http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detai ... RibQ%3D%3D
You can also appeal to mdgm. After I lodged a case with Netgear tech support and posted my issue on the forum, he contacted me and he was able to remotely login. Had me up and running in just a few minutes. His presence on these forums and in the ReadyNAS community is invaluable. - mjcourtneyAspirantMany thanks for the pointer. I have contacted Tech Support who are going to attempt to fix it remotely and I have to leave the NAS in Tech Support mode until they let me know it's complete.
I'm assuming that I can make this easier in future by enabling SSH so that I can fix this myself? - nsneVirtuoso

Yeah, I'd enable it. Initially I'd disabled it out of paranoia, but after this and other similar incidents, it's probably best to keep it enabled. - mjcourtneyAspirantThanks.
Tech Support did some work last night and asked me to restart this morning, sadly it's still broken. I pointed them at the PhpSysinfo app being the culprit, but maybe they did something else.
Its looking like I might have to do a back up and factory reset :( - super_poussinVirtuosoThe addon is not faulty, the firmware is faulty but tech support can solve this without factory
Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk - mjcourtneyAspirantMany thanks for all the help. Tech Support have now restored my GUI :)
First thing I then did was enable SSH!
Sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean that the App was faulty, merely that it was the un-installation of the app which caused the GUI to crash. I seriously hope Netgear fix this bug for the next release because i'm now very apprehensive about installing / removing any future apps on the NAS. - x219cLuminaryYeah, it does it with any uninstallation. Mine broke after uninstalling netgears surveillance app.
Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk - alex_74AspirantI purchased my nas rn10200 December 29 and in three days I avut this problem twice. When I uninstall an application I no longer access the administration
I contacted the customer support netgear and to my amazement I was told not to have a solution to the problem and that the only thing I could do was reset (which also involves formatting disks!) They said that the technicians are working to solve this problem.
Meanwhile I did reset but I can not install and uninstall applications, thus making the product usable in half
Does anyone have a better solution? - magnusfinbomAspirantHello,
I was affected by this "bug" after trying to uninstall a DNS-server that I did not want to use anymore.
The frontend did not respond at all. And with no Linux-skills this is no fun....
Going into the boot-menu and performing OS-reinstallation (Not wiping the unit) did not help so that was pointless.
BUT, I did manage to fix it, quite simple and without losing any data. (My very basic Linux skills was enough... :)
Solution that solved it for me.
1. Connect through SSH. (If you do not have SSH enabled, then this will not help... sorry.)
2. move to the apache2-directory usingcd /etc/apache2/sites-enabled
3. type DIR to see what addons, that are installed.
Here you should see the addon you tried to uninstall, but still have some "left-overs"...
4. Delete the addon usingRM [file]
, for example rm 090-dnsserver.conf
5. launch Apache usingsystemctl start apache2
This helped for me and also got me into Learning some more basic Linux. :)
Regards, Magnus - alex_74AspirantThanks magnusfinbom, try your procedure.
When I was successful I had ssh enabled, so it was impossible to restore.
For the future up will enable ssh
But I hope that netgear solve the problem even for those users who do not have technical skills
Happy New Year!
