Ultra 6 & WD20EARX freeze
Hello,
My 18 months old Ultra 6 has 6xWD20EARX in XRaid. Recently, it freezes for a moment every few minutes. Cannot Watch a film or listen to music, noticeable during file copy as well :twisted:
I did wdidle3 them (700000+ load cycle count :cry: :cry: :cry: ) but no change (except load cycle count is very calm now 8) )
LAN, switches and client are Gigabit, speed is excellent 90MB/s
The venerable and trusty D-Link DSN-323 next to it has no freeze problem used in the exact same conditions :neener:
I got latest Raidiator with few add-ons : Twonky & ReadyPhotos2
Anyone a hint ? WD firmware upgrade or anything... before I bin the 6 disks + 1 (I have a spare :cry: :cry: :cry: ) or is it a ReadyNas issue ???

- What firmware do you have running, and what addons do you have installed?
- Also what are the SMART+ stats like for your disks (you can check under Status > Health > SMART+ in Frontview)?
- I have the same drives on a RN314 and am experiencing the same problem. When streaming a movie the system freezes about every 10 minutes or so. So far support has not been helpful.
- Well this hard drive is not on the compatibility list. You should only use disks on the compatibility list. See http://www.readynas.com/hard_disk_hcl
