Upgrade ReadyNAS NV+ v2 To Use SMB2 or SMB3?

I am wondering if there is any way to upgrade my device to use SMB2 or higher as the current version is SMB1.0 which is no longer supported by Windows. Only way is to manually enable SMB1.0 in Windows but I was told that it is a serious security risk, ie. WannaCry ransomware, etc... Suggestions anyone? Thanks.

  • Hi asyadiqin

While other Legacy NAS with x86 architecture can be updated to OS 6 to be able to support the latest SMB version, the NV+ V2 cannot. Your best option is to upgrade the unit to an OS 6 model (RN400 series or higher).

    Hope this helps!
