View on shares disappeared from admin screen in browser
Hi, After upgrading from OS4 to 6.5, I created new shares and restored all of my data. I was very pleased with the fact that I can manage data from the Admin page on a browser. So far so good. I ...

Hi Brian,
This morning the last data was restored to the NAS. I did the restore in batches, one share at a time, to give me the opportunity to reboot the nas after every share-restore and see if everything was still ok.
As far as I can see, things are ok now.
So the system is running again, but I am still in the dark on why the issue appeared in the first place.
I will mark the solution as working, although a complete factory-reset is probably the last resolution other people will like :-)
Thx for your support and keep up the good work!

Hi Brian,
Thx for your reply.
The syncing went fine after a reboot of the mac.
I did not notice the issue when running 6.5, because I only used 6.5 for a very short time....
Before I restored all of the data, the system updated to 6.5.1.
I did create new shares for the restore.
I created a test share through the browser interface with no issue; using all the default settings for network access and owner/group.
But, again, after a reboot this share is also no longer visable in the browser-interface. It is also not visable through readycloud.
Only the home-share is visable
But from my mac's finder, it is there and usable.....
I am using Safari 10.0 (which is a beta), but had the same problem with Safari on OSX.
I tested with Firebox 48.0b7 on the mac, with the same result.
Same was true for MS-edge on a WIndows10 notebook.
I like to include a picture from just after creating the share and then after the reboot, but somehow that is not working :-)
Hope this helps....
Jack

Hi Jackvd,
You can upload pictures or screenshots (in .png format) and post it on this thread. I suppose you still have the data backed up somewhere. Would you mind if you will perform a full factory reset on your unit?
Kind regards,

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your reply. I considered attaching pictures of the webscreen, but I am not sure if that would be of any help...
During the last couple of days I performed some steps to get to a sollution.
First; I upgraded the memory from 1GB to 2GB. I was wondering if a lag of memory could be at the core of the issue.
The upgrade went fine and after running the memtest for 4 hours, I presumed it was ok.
It did not have any effect on the issue, but it did improve the response of the system substantially.
Since I indeed had my backup still available, I decided to follow your advise and initiated a Factory Reset.
The system went through the setup assistent and booted up with a volume defined. It was called 'data' and it started a resync.
I let the resync finish, but then deleted the volume and created my own volume (data01, raid5) with encryption enabled.
The system again started a resync and I waited for it to finish.
Next step was to switch x-raid on.
After that, I created a test-share (the home-share was already there) and fiddeled around with ownership and access. This forced me to create users and I did that too.
I choose not to restore any settings, but to start clean.
After this, I rebooted the system and to my delight the test-share was still there. It was also usable on my macbook's Finder.
I started to define more shares and after each one I would reboot the system and check if everything was still ok.
So now I started to restore the data to the different shares. I am doing this step by step.
I also created a shared Timemachine and started the backup from my macbook-pro with macOS 10 beta. This is not a big success......
It is so incredibly slow, that it is not very functional. But this is a different issue :-)
I will keep on restoring data and post updates on the progress during the week.
It is over 4T of data, so it will take a while.....

Hi Jackvd,
Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad that resetting the unit to factory settings worked out well on your system. Well, it just took time to get everything in place again. I look forward to hearing more questions, tips, suggestion from you in the future.
Kind regards,
