Did you have a 1TB drive in this unit before?
This is what I am seeing in the logs:
PV /dev/md2 VG c lvm2 [2.90 TB / 0 free]
PV /dev/md3 VG c lvm2 [8.00 TB / 5.00 GB free]
The md2 would be your first RAID for the data volume, and the md3 is the second RAID for the data volume. It would use the second RAID/partition for the expansion of your data volume.
