It starts to install the .msi and seems to complete, although as it's only one of the install msi's the while application remains broken. |
I wasn't thinking you should try to install the MSI itself, but was wondering if you could see the folder contents. Clearly you could.

I dropped the folder to the laptop (in a c:\temp folder) and then tried to install from the NAS. Same fail. |
I think that's a clue. You have an install folder (the original that you copied to the NAS), but the copy (original->NAS->c:\temp) fails? Perhaps compare the two, and see if something is missing (setting windows to show hidden and system files). You might also copy the original into c:\temp, and see if it fails the same way.
