Windows Application install from Duo - Permissions ?
Hi,
I'm trying to get an windows application called Quotewerks to run off my Nas Duo (v2). This requires me to install a 'node' for each client PC which is installed from the NAS share\folder.
The install skips through several components but fails on the last one with the message:
On the NAS the set-up program sits in \\Office_Nas\QuoteWerks_NAS\QuoteWerks\ but the link above suggests 'QBS9LQ~1' ?
If I try and run the msi file directly it appears to open. The same message is returned from my second Nas Duo (which is a V1) and I get the same result on different Win7 and XP clients. I have SMB, AFP & NFS ticked.
The 'node' software does install OK from a shared Win7 folder on a PC.
The thought is that it's a permissions problem with the NAS but I'm struggling to ID what to change. I have 4 or 5 client machines to set up. We don't have any specific users set up on the NAS boxes.
Any help or guidance much appreciated.
Thanks
David

david000 wrote: I think that's a clue. You have an install folder (the original that you copied to the NAS), but the copy (original->NAS->c:\temp) fails? Perhaps compare the two, and see if something is missing (setting windows to show hidden and system files). You might also copy the original into c:\temp, and see if it fails the same way.
I think we're misunderstanding each other.
I just coped the file set on to the local machine, but didn't install from them. However I have installed across the network from the current 'master' PC with the same file set and it works, and have installed the same client software on the same 'master' PC in order to use the app.
I was unclear how having a local file set will help ?
