Working with backups of Timemachine data

Referring to this thread on how to set up a backup of timemachine data

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Backing-up-to-your-ReadyNAS/Time-machine-backup-question/m-p/916183#M7789

I got to thinking...since these backed-up files are stored in a regular share on the backup ReadyNAS (not a hidden timemachine share), in the case that I need to fall back to this data after my timemachine data on the primary ReadyNAS becomes corrupt, how do I point my Mac at them to restore them via timemachine?

    Hello atebit,

How about copying the stored files in backed up TimeMachine share to the hidden TimeMachine share (when accessed via AFP) while both are open at the same time?

    Regards,

Excuse me, how is it going now? Can you do time machine backups?
