Yes I am aware that xbmc is a client that runs on another device. I know that the device serves up Dlna. However most of the posts I have seen mention browsing the media directory via smb. So one would assume that since it is Dlna complient, the readynas nv+ can serve up media to a client running xbmc. However, since I don't really see anyone mentioning using Dlna for this, I am curious if there are issues with the nv+'s ability to accomplish what m looking to do.
Can it use Dlna or is it stuck using smb. If both why is smb preferred over the other. How much metadata is lost if using smb.
