I'd like to see in the app a back haul status, even if it were a simple color coded line connecting the satellite to the router as shown on the network map. Better would be some tangible measure of signal strength or bandwidth

Once upon a time, Netgear made such information visible on older, pre-Orbi Apps and Web UIs. This was part of the Netger Genie, covering consumer routers and extenders. 8-)
Hera again, in case this is intended to be a generic Consumer Orbi product idea, better post in the Home Networking -> Idea Exchange for Home.
