OrbiPro Wifi6 (SXR80 and SXS80) Devices reconnect to base unit not satellite
Devices reconnect to base unit not satellite upon reconfigutation, reboot, firmware update etc. Sats are operating on wifi.
I understand that after a reboot the base modem comes back on line first after a reboot. However, not all wifi devices move around, creating horrible connectivity issues for users of those fixed-location wifi devices after any reboot.
Upon reboot all devices, including those normally connected to the stronger sat signal reconnect to the base router signal. This includes devices that we specifically installed sats to reach with great connectivity atteributes. However, nstead of connecting to a strong satellite signal upon reboot, they are stuck on the poor base router signal. If a phone or tablet moves around, it will find a stronger signal of the sat eventually - however fixed devices never do. Those fixed-location devices must be manually power cycled off then on, or their wifi off then on depending upon the device. This is a PIA and makes an automatic firmware update impossibly inconvenient to users of "fixed-location" wifi users, and mandates that an administrator be on site during any reboot.
Could new firmware fix this
(1) so no wifi devices other than the sats (by MAC address or reserved IP addresses) are allowed to connect to the base until all sats are on line?
OR
(2) so certain wifi devices (by MAC address or reserved IP addresses) are allowed to restricted to connect to ONLY one specific sat?
OR
(3) some other way?
Thank you
PS. OrbiProWifi6 units SXR80 and SXS80 have been around for months and it is not an option listed as a "Model" in the Model entry line above.
Thank you
