Half of a week in on using the device, loving the performance. But just noticed one of the features I would like to see is a band steering option so it can try to send clients to the 5GHz when the client connects to the 2.4GHz band.

The idea of band steering is to have kind of a load balancing, slower, less powerful devices, or devices on the distance limit (lower signal levels) are kept on the slower bands like 2.4 GHz. It's not to push all devices to the 5 GHz band. Dual, 2.4 and 5 GHz or tri-band 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz clients attempt to keep the connection to the best performing band. as per Murphy's law, the better the technology, the higher the frequencies, so the lower the range. Wireless clients do almost everything right on their own. if say the 5 GHz covered is not good enough, they fall back to 2.4 GHz. sometimes, to keep the performance up on the higher frequency bands, one goes to control these towards the lower bands.
