Anyone use Arlo Go  for license plate scanning for neighborhood watch ?   Would be interested to know if works at night for this purpose

Any camera of this type with its field of view is going to have a VERY hard time getting plates

( unless the car is within 30 Ft  and parked )

You may have to look elsewhere

Just checked this with my Pro aimed at the driveway.  The car was ~20 feet away from the camera but detail was nearly impossible to see.  A high contrast plate might be discernable but it would likely be a struggle.

Yes...been there, tested too...I can BARELY make out the plate on my parked car with the Q at 30 ft ( and I know what it is ) with it's higher rez.

You need either a specialized plate reader for moving cars or a hi rez camera aimed directly at the path of the vehicle with a tight FOV and some magnification to get plates from moving cars ( been there with wired cameras)

And to make it work at night only compounds the issue

I just checked several videos on my Arlo Go and could NOT figure out the liscense plate.  This was from 15 feet away.
