How to set up the Arlo Pro and Pro 2 Camera

Note: To complete the setup process, you will need an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station. If you are setting up multiple cameras, only sync one camera at a time.

To set up an Arlo Pro or Pro 2 Camera:

  1. Launch the Arlo Secure app.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and tap Add New Device.
  3. On the Select your Arlo device screen, tap Cameras.
  4. On the Select your Arlo model screen, tap Pro.
  5. On the Pro screen, tap Arlo.
  6. Select an Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station.

Note: If a SmartHub or Base Station is not installed, tap Add New SmartHub.

Plug the Ethernet Cable into your SmartHub or Base Station and tap Continue.

Plug the AC adapter into the wall outlet, make sure the lights on the SmartHub or Base Station come on, and tap Continue.

If you have trouble connecting the SmartHub or Base Station, visit: Arlo can't discover my SmartHub or Base Station during installation; what do I do?

  1. Insert the battery into the camera:

Unlock the battery compartment by pressing the latch button and pulling back gently.

Insert the battery as shown and close the battery door.

  1. Tap Continue.
  2. Press the SYNC button on the camera for about two seconds and then release the button.

  1. When the LED on the camera is blinking Blue, tap Continue.

  1. Arlo will begin looking for your camera:

    Note: Make sure the camera is within 3 to 6 feet of your Arlo SmartHub or Base Station during the setup process. Avoid placing the camera within close proximity to other Wi-Fi devices to avoid signal interference during the setup process.

  • Name your Arlo camera and tap Continue.
  • Tap Finish.
