What do I do if Arlo Baby camera video is too dim while using night vision?

This article applies to:

Arlo Baby infrared LEDs are much dimmer than the night vision LEDs on other Arlo cameras. Bright infrared LEDs can distract babies and keep them from sleeping, so Arlo Baby infrared LEDs are almost invisible.

If your Arlo Baby night-time videos are not bright enough:

Make sure Night Vision is turned on.

For the Arlo Secure App experience with Feed:

  1. Launch the Arlo Secure App.
  2. Tap Devices.
  3. Select Arlo Baby.
  4. Tap .
  5. Tap Night Vision.
  6. Tap the Night Vision switch to the on position.

For the Arlo Secure App experience with Library:

  1. Launch the Arlo Secure App.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap My Devices.
  4. Select Arlo Baby.
  5. Tap Video Settings.
  6. Tap the Night Vision switch to the on position.

Turn off all lights in the room and start streaming from Arlo Baby to see if the LEDs on the front of the camera are on.

  • The red glow indicates that the infrared LEDs are on and active.

Ensure no lights are pointing at the camera or shining near the camera, especially in front of the camera.

  • Make sure the camera is not pointing at a nearby reflective surface, such as a tabletop, wall, mirror, or window.
  • Try moving the camera to a different location.

If the video from your Arlo Baby camera is still too dim, try turning off your Arlo Baby camera status LED.

  • If you turn off your camera status LED, it might be difficult to troubleshoot problems with your Arlo Baby camera, but you can always turn the LED back on in your camera Device Settings.
