How do you save files to an external drive? Is something you can do within the app?

Yes, I have two Netgear Readynas servers with 10Tb of storage that will be on the same network, can I store there rather than the "cloud"?

No capability to store directly to a NAS but you can use a USB drive connected to the base for local backup.
