Hi

Iv come to the end of my product return period time, as well as my patience with the Support that does nothing but tell you that they will do somthing.

I hope making this thread with confirm with me if I have a faulty set up, or if you do have the same issues as me.  Il keep it short, the zones fail to work within the confined area designated.  Iv been through test after test, made videos for Arlo Support showing the inconsistant motion events either ignoring whats inside a zone, or letting motion up to 13 feet outside a zone trigger off my cameras.  Please tell me what your experience is with zones, to clarify this is whats set up only when plugged in all the time.  If I dont get anywhere by tomorrow with Netgear Im sending them back, I will do a comprehesive review will follow this.

Thanks, Dan

Rectro33,

If you have the zones set up and the camera is plugged in, the activity zones should be working. If you experience an issue, it could be due to camera placement or environmental factors causing false triggers or inconsistent motion detection. Do you have a case open already with the support team? If so, please send me a private message with the case information and I will review and escalate as needed.

Hi James.

I feel its a little too late.  Not only have both cameras failed in a major way, but so has support.  I had made a support case for the Motion Detection zones, one for a Blue led flash issue, one for poor quality pixelated videos, one for offline,  Request time out messages.  Iv had no resolution to non of these matters.  The Blue Led issue I was getting some help and I had one more test to do in which the case was to be held open.  During this time iv had to go though the whole reset, re sync, delete the apps, all modes, which involved me keep having to borrow a ladder, mess around with taking the cameras off, reposition them so many times I cant keep count.  Iv now moved a camera to a new location, 7 feet off upp the wall, horizontal to the areas in which Im wanting to monitor, only 12 to 14 feet away from zones at most.

The new upgraded help system wiped out all my records of the additional infomation I added.  While you may be able to see it your end I certainly cant.  Yes Im stressed, Iv had a very bad year, this is has topped it all off with a inferior product, and tech support.

I will contact you via PM, please suprise me with a solution, and Id be happy to report back on this thread, and metion this in my full video review in the up and comming weeks.  All in all I couldnt have had a worse experience with the Arlo Pro 2.

Update:

I didnt not find a solution, it would seem I needed a engineer support, it seems the tech support has good intentions yet never actualy solves the problem or follows it up.  I sent the whole kit back.

I purchased another brand and placed it in the same location as Arlo and the zones worked first time with zero false alarms.
