These cameras are event based, and therefore, the camera itself is not "on" all the time.  When the PIR sensor on the camera detects motion, the camera is activated to record.  Since the camera isn't always on, there aren't any "activity zones" because there is no video to compare since the camera itself is not actually on until the sensor trips it.  Your best bet is to adjust the sensitivity of the camera and/or position the camera in an area that you need to monitor.  It's best to have that area as small as you can, if you have the camera watching a huge area (such as all the way to the street, for example) you may pickup passing vehicles and such.  Position and placement are key with this type of system.  Arlo smart is currently in beta, but what it does, it analyzes the video from your camera in realtime and then tells you if it sees a "person, animal, vehicle, or other".  In the future, you could use that to disable notifcations for say, vehicles, while still have it notify you on people.  A little research on the product prior to purchase really helps elivate some of the frustrations while setting expectations.  If you need something that's capable of 'activity zones' per se, you can use Arlo Q which is always "on".  However, arlo Q is designed for indoor use only, but it can see thru the glass (unlike arlo, arlo pro which can't sense motion thru glass, it blocks the PIR sensor).  Hopefully this helps.
