I have set a close up zone, but how do I ensure that this zone is the one used to record footage? It doesn't seem to give me an option to choose which zone I want as default? What is the point of zones if you cannot do this? I have asked this question before but it was not answered - makes me wonder if the feature does not work?

Zones are defined in Settings. They're used in your modes and rules in the Mode tab.

I am finding it odd that I am not getting a full answer here. Having set the zones, how do I ensure that the recording uses the zone I want? Please could someone - Netgear - break it down step by step. I have tried, but there seems no way to select the zone for recording - can I choose which zone records?

Thank you!!

There are two thing you must do for picking a zone...

1) create the zone ( Settings>Video Settings , snapshot, create zones )

2) use the zone in a custom mode ( add a mode )

When you create the new MODE, the option is given to SELECT the ZONE to use ( toggle button ) over "everything".  The you create the remainder of the rules as to record time , sense level ,etc.... when all done properly the Custom mode wil appear in the mode list.

Name it the same as the zone so you know what it covers
