Backup True Image 2015 via FTP -->ReadyNAS102

Hi,

ich habe leider nichts ähnliches finden können.

Hier mein Problem:

Danke schonmal,

Chris 47111

Hi Chris7411,

Would like to know if you're able to setup remote FTP in your ReadyNAS system as well as in your network firewall.

Kind regards,

Re: Backup from True Image 2015 via FTP to ReadyNAS102

Hi Chris47111,

Was this an offsite or remote FTP backup? Does this happen if it's done or being done locally?

Looking forward to your response.

Re: Backup True Image 2015 via FTP -->ReadyNAS102

Hi was mich mal kurz interresiert wieso per FTP ?

Re: Backup True Image 2015 via FTP -->ReadyNAS102

Hi,

Re: Backup from True Image 2015 via FTP to ReadyNAS102

Hi BrianL,

I tried to do the backup using SMB. It works as long as I check allow anonymous access. When unchecking his box, Acronis tells me 0 of 0 GB free. So I think, it has to do something with the accounts.

Network Access:

My users are in groug user. FTP is enabled an read/write permissions are set for the users, I want to have acces to the share.

User Everyone is not granted any rights.

No hosts are set.

File access: Folder owner and folger group = guest

Grant Rename... is set

Folder owner and Group is read/write

guest and admin isr /read write.

guest

Re: Backup from True Image 2015 via FTP to ReadyNAS102

Hi Chris47111,

Just leave the SMB as it is so the backup would work well. Going back to your original problem with FTP, was it configured and working local and remotely? eg. ftp://NAS-IP address or ftp://WAN-IP address

Re: Backup from True Image 2015 via FTP to ReadyNAS102

Hi,

ja, SMB works.

As for FTP I use it locally with a static IP type 10.x.y.z. There is no DHCP.

thx,

Chris47111

Re: Backup from True Image 2015 via FTP to ReadyNAS102

Hi Chris47111,

If this is the case, the FTP should also be configured to work remotely since the backup (source) probably is from Acronis. Could you explain further your setup so we can get this resolved?

Re: Backup from True Image 2015 via FTP to ReadyNAS102

Hi BrianL,

I forgot to tell you, that firmware 6.4.2 is installed. No update possible.

Under System--> Settings --> FTP Settings

FTP is enabled

Port 21

Authentication anonymous

upload resumes disabled

ports: 32768 - 65535

masquerade : disabled

FTPS and Server Log is enabled

shares --> Properties

nothing set

FTP  on

security everyone and  adminhave read/write access

no hosts set

File Access security

folder owner and group guest

grant name and delete privileges: set

Everyone, owner and group habe read write Access

How can I configute FTP towork remotely?

I hope, that helps.

Thanks,

Chris47111

Re: Backup from True Image 2015 via FTP to ReadyNAS102

Hi Chris4711,

Just open or port forward FTP: 21 in your router (firewall) and the said service will be available through WAN via the assigned or given IP address by your ISP. Once configured, it can be accessed via browser or FTP client (eg. ftp://80.x.x.x)

Re: Backup from True Image 2015 via FTP to ReadyNAS102

Hi BrianL,

I disabled the Win7 firewall. Nothing changed. When telling acronis TrueImage 2015 to make backups to ftp, I still get the message 0 of 0 free.

I used my admin account, so I thought, that I have all the privileges that are necessary.

As soon as I get back to work, I'll send you a screenshot.

BTW: I don't need the possibility to make backups via WAN. Just "inside" the LAN is sufficient.

thanks,

Chris74111,
