Can't connect to ORBI channel sometimes
We are in a small office with the SRR60 and a single SRS60. Firmware V2.7.0.122.
Everything configured and working for over a year. No recent changes other than firmware updates when available.
4 channels: Admin, Main employee access channel, IOT channel and a guest channel.
One day a user couldn't connect to main channel. Left the office, came back to the office the next day and could connect.
I am the admin. I had the same experience the next time I was at the office that I couldn't connect to the main channel. I then tried connecting to the Admin channel and got connected. I then disconnected from the Admin channel and connected to the main channel without an issue.
Other users come and go and have yet to have a connection issue.
I don't see anything in the logs about rejected connections.
I have done a reboot from the ORBI web interface.
I would rather not do a factory reset and then have to reconfigure.
Anyone else have a similar situation lately?
Joel

Re: Can't connect to ORBI channel sometimes
Are you on iOS (and the coworker with the issue)?
Are you using random ip/mac address?
or icloud relay?

Re: Can't connect to ORBI channel sometimes
The laptops in question are Windows 10.
No iOS or Android devices seem to be having the problem.
I am using dynamic ip addressing with the ORBI performing DHCP tasks for LAN assignment.
For internet ip address the ip is dhcp as well from our provider.

Re: Can't connect to ORBI channel sometimes
Looks like that modem is a modem/router combo device.
It can cause a double nat. it usually doesn't cause a lot of issues but it can.
A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.
https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions. Not all ISP's modem only mode works properly.
2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.

Re: Can't connect to ORBI channel sometimes
The Spectrum modem is in bridge mode currently.
Has been working that way for over a year. Current issues are new.
I am going for a factory reset to start over as issues are sporadic.
