Multiple VLAN support on WNDAP 350?
So, we are interested in setting up a "guest" network on a separate vlan for visitors, in addition to . Our consultant advises us that to do this with our current WAP, it needs to support "vlan tagging." I'm not sure if ours does. When I look in the management web pages, I can set up 8 different profiles, and there is a listing for "VLAN" but it does not appear to be editable. Whereas, a screenshot from a WNDAp360 does look like this is editable.
Does anyone know off-hand? Or, alernatively, have a link to the 350s docs?
Re: Multiple VLAN support on WNDAP 350?
Welcome to the community!
On the web-GUI of the WNDAP350, after you have configured the Guest network under Wireless Settings (see page 25-30 of the WNDAP350 reference manual here), go to Configuration > Security > Profile Settings then check the box of the Guest network and click Edit. Refer on the images below:
On the Edit Security Profile page, make sure to set the following:
a. Select Yes on "Broadcast Wireless Network Name (SSID)"
b. Set your desired Network Authentication for wireless security purposes.
c. Leave the "Wireless Client Security Separation" to Disable.
d. Set the appropriate VLAN ID. For example if the Guest network is on VLAN 09, set the VLAN ID to 9.
e. Click Apply.
Kindly refer on pages 39-47 of the WNDAP350 reference manual here.
The VLAN tagging should be configured on the port of the switch where your WNDAP350 will be directly connected. For example, if your WNDAP350 is directly connected to port 18 of your switch (port 18 should be a member of VLAN 09 as shown on the sample image above) then set port 18 as "tagged" (T) port.
