What is the default local device password for these APs.
Ordered 4 of these units to test for deployment in a number of dead spots around our institution. I can connect to the devices via the IP address that is acquired from dhcp. However it is asking for a "local device Password"
Firmware version: V1.0.1.0
Model: Netgear Business AP WAX214 - AX1800 WIFI 6
What is this password. There is no reference made in the documentation.
Thanks

Hey Guys
I got the APs login issue resolved. I was contacted by a chap from Netgear and he was able to deduce that the day_zero login page was not running on connecting the APs to the switch. He recommended that I initiate a factory default reset on the APs ( whilst the AP was connected, hold down the reset button for 20 seconds)
Once this was completed, the Aps rebooted and I was able to get the the required day_zero page via the acquired device ip address.
It definitely lets you wonder how come they were already configured.
Anyway..just posting so this may benefit someone in the future.

Usually the MAC address, without colons.

Re: Netgear Business AP WAX214 - AX1800 WIFI 6 Default local Device password.
So I am assuming this didn't do anything either?
I would venture trying other web browsers, disabling adblock, anything. Resetting?
Not to be silly, but does "password" work?
These are new units and haven't been activated before?
I don't really have much else I can think of. Good luck!

Re: Netgear Business AP WAX214 - AX1800 WIFI 6 Default local Device password.
I have indeed taken a look at this link, as well as the configuration and installation leaflet enclosed. All attemps eventually lead back to this page.
I have tried firefox, chrome and Opera web browser on Windows PC. I use Ubuntu linux extensively and have tried Brave, Chromium and Dissenter web browsers on a different PC.....Still gets to this page. Have also tried the "Password and password"
These are new units out of the box and have not been activated or configured.

Re: Netgear Business AP WAX214 - AX1800 WIFI 6 Default local Device password.
These are 4 new APs that I have recently purchased and first time out of the box. So I have not configured any of the units. I am not new to APS as I have configure in excess of 50 Cisco and Ubiquiti devices at our school. These are our first netgear APs though.
All our switches~ about 20 are all netgear. So I was interested to see how they behave with native netgear switches.
So we will see

Tried all upper or all lowercase?
I'm curious if the WAX21x day-zero logic might be broken not accepting the default password. As per the QSG, one must connect to the predefined SSID using the (same) MAC (as printed on the label in my understanding), and then run the initial config while connected direct to the WAX21x.

Re: Netgear Business AP WAX214 - AX1800 WIFI 6 Default local Device password.
Hi MIS200,
Can you try to do a factory reset.
Power on the AP and then do a factory reset.
(press-hold for 10 seconds, the led should start blinking, then release the button ).
Now try to log in.
I understand you have new WAX214. But it will be still worth trying to do a factory reset.
Thank you.

Love this advise. Have checked the QSG and UM - no, really NO indication of the (login) password to be used here.... 8-)
Has this ever passed a basic usability test?
