WAC510 Guest Network

I have 2 WAC510 and 1 WAC505 access-point.

The switches I have are Netgear switches and the router is also from Netgear.

I want to create a guest network. I know that I have to create seperate VLAN on switch and access-points.

But do I have to create the VLAN on the router also?

Hi @hagepat,

Welcome to the community! 🙂

But do I have to create the VLAN on the router also?

Yes, so that router will be the DHCP server for the Guest network.  However, if the switch has a function to create a DHCP Pool for the Guest network then configure a DHCP Pool in the switch.

Which Netgear router model?

Please note older Wifi Routers, Nightawk, Orbi, and Orbi Pro don't come with any VLAN support for the local LAN side.
