WAC510 max client count reached?

Hi, I'm hoping somebody can point me in the right direction. We have a WAC510 that is supposedly spec'd for up to 200 simultaneous clients. However, clients are unable to connect and I'm seeing "maximum client count reached" in the logs when there are well under 100 (e.g., ~80) clients attached to that AP. There is no max number of clients set for any of the radios as far as I can tell. What am I missing?

Hi @kansaa

Please check Management > Configuration > Wireless > Advanced and in the Max.Wireless Clients field, make sure the maximum number of WiFi clients is set as 200. The default is set 64 WiFi clients per radio.

If this is set correctly, also check Management > Configuration > Wireless > Advanced > Load Balancing if Load Balancing configuratin is enabled and set maximum number of clients accordingly.

As a thumb rule, an AP may not serve the bandwidth needs of more than approx 20 to 40 real modern day clients even though 200 connections are allowed.

Thanks!
