WAC720 ProSAFE Dual Band Wireless AC Access - How to block certain Wireless devices?

Hi All,

Hope this is in the right section. My work uses WAC720 ProSAFE Dual Band Wireless AC Access as we have a load of phones that connect to it throughout the day, we have a small issue of some clients connecting to it for personal use - i can see the Mac Address and IP of the device on the dashboard - but to block the mac/device is this done through MAC Authentication section? By simply adding a new profile then the Mac of the device?

Not really. The WAC720 is a "ProSAFE Dual-Band Wireless AC Access Points".

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Business Wireless - NETGEAR Communities

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

The WAC720 is an access point. Things like blocking devices and access control is usually in the hands of the router. Some APs can also work as routers. I'm not familiar with your box. That's why it helps to use the section where they have followers who are better versed in how it works.
