Re: WAX204 connection between wifi clients timeout
Probably it is? Two of the three wireless networks (SSIDs) can be configured for client isolation.
RT*M p.72 ff https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WAX204/WAX204_UM_EN.pdf ?
What does mean configured for "no SSID"?

Re: WAX204 connection between wifi clients timeout
Hardware-version WAX204
Firmware-version V1.0.2.4
No SSID and no Client isolation should be No SSID isolation and no Client isolation.
I have tested on all 3 wireless settings supported by was204.
I use SSID isolation deactivated.
Here are my settigs for wireless 3:
wireless network active
SSID NETGEAR51E218-3
Client isolation deactivated
Here a a little more details about the http setup.
One of my wifi clients runs windows and ion this platform I run the vpn http-server.
vpn http-server is a fairly simple http server available on most platforms.
Another wifi client is an android phone where I access the vpn http-server using a Chrome browser.
Both clients run on wax204 wireless 3 network.
Here I observer that the browser connection fails with a timeout.
If I make the same senario using a android hot-spot wireless network I have no problems getting the clients connected.
This make me conclude that some kind of isolation is still in effect on wax204 dispite the fact that I have turned it off.

Re: WAX204 connection between wifi clients timeout
This reads like an unwanted behavior of the WAX204 and the current firmware. Your set-up should be a no-brainier, fully with you.

Re: WAX204 connection between wifi clients timeout
Any idea how I can continue from here, my 3 month support has just run out. Is there an escalation path from community to netgear support? Thanks for your help.

The official support channels start here:
Contact Us | Support | NETGEAR
First you have to register your device to confirm that it is eligible for the 90-days free support. Start here:
MyNETGEAR | Product Registration
Start a case and, with luck, they will contact you.
After 90 days, Netgear does not provide paid support. It farms that out to GearHead.
GearHead supports all manner of kit, but it isn't likely to try flogging things like firewalls and virus checkers.
Or you can try to sort out problems here. That costs you nothing.
