WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access

My WAP keeps loosing access to the internet and it does it quite often; 6 times an hour, all my wireless devices loose Interment access. They all have WIFI connectivity to the WAP and maintain their local IP but can't download even a simple page like google.com. All devices hard wired to the same firewall/switch do NOT have a problem connecting to the net. I have to turn off and on the device's wireless connection to regain access but that only works for a few minutes.
To get longer lasting connectivity I have to power cycle the WNDAAP660. After a power cycle it will run for potentially a couple days before acting up. I've noticed other users have the same problem.
I have the latest firmware 3.5.20. So at this point its worthless piece of garbage that I have to pay for support for. Does anyone have any ideas before I chuck it in the garbage and never buy another netgear product again?

Re: WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access
Hello zappullae,
Welcome to the community!
Sorry to hear about the issue you are having with the AP. I looked up the case and it was indicated that if the issue comes back after the factory reset and firmware update the device will be replaced. I have talked to support and asked them for someone to contact you and process your RMA. The product that you have has a Complimentary NBD (Next-Business-Day) replacement, so you there should be no charge.
I hope this helps you out.
Thanks,

Re: WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access
Unfortunately that didn't fix it. So last night it was fine and fast. The first connection this morning failed again. I had to disable and reenable WIFI on the device.

Re: WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access
So the replacement arrived and is up and running. I took all the defaults except for the SID and PSK. We'll see how this works.

Re: WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access
Well, that didn't take long at all. Same problem; actually worse than the original. I switched back to the orginal, will send the replacement back, and am trying with different SIDs for 2.4 and 5G as per this thread. Last chance to make this work before I recycle it.

Re: WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access
Hi zappullae,
Sorry to hear that. I'm suspecting it could be the last few firmware version that's causing it. Each network is different so any troubleshooting/workaround on the thread will vary. We may have to work hand in hand with engineering to see the cause of the issue.

Re: WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access
Changing SIDs didn't work. Turning off the each radio didn't work. I'm back to the orginal device and original settings. For some unknown reason its been stable since the morning of the 24th with only 1 glitch. We will see how it holds up.

Re: WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access
Hi zappullae,
I'm not sure how changing SSID's would help. If it happens again, try changing the WMM settings and see if it will make it stable.

Re: WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access
It happened last night. This time I couldn't keep connection for longer that a few minuets. I have it unplugged and am trying my Xfinity wifi (which was previously turned off) just for kicks and giggles. Below is a sample from the WNDAP660 log file; maybe you can see something. I have the full dowload but I don't see away to attach a file here.

Re: WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access
Update: I've been running of the WIFI provided by Xfinity onthe same devices and have not had a single connection issue. So I am concluding this is a problem soley with the WNDAP660. Are there any items to try before I chuck the device in the trash can?

Re: WNDAP660 Internet Access Keeps Loosing Access
And I have an S6. I can't say for sure but the problem may have started when I got the phone.
