re-discover managed access point

Good afternoon,

controller: 7600

access point: WAC720

Access point was no longer used, disconnected from network, and removed from managed access points list.

Now I need it back to work with the system.

But Wizard and running discovery is not detecting this access point.

1. What is the procedure to add this access point back to list?

2. Do I need to restore AP standalone firmware first, and then discover it using controller?

regards

Bartosz

Re: re-discover managed access point

@bartosz-l,

If it is the same wireless controller, you don't need to re-install the standalone firmware but it will depend if the AP is running on the same firmware as the controller. if you are not sure about the installed firmware then It would be best to install a standalone firmware and discover it using the controller.

Re: re-discover managed access point

thank You for Your reply.

So, assuming it is same firmware:

When I remove (configured and working) access point from 'managed AP list' then I should be able to re-discover this AP again if I use Discovery wizard?

Re: re-discover managed access point

@bartosz-l,

That is correct. Just use the discovery wizard from your controller and you may be able to detect the access point. Just let me know if that will not work.
