C7000v2 Firmware Update

I'd like to update the firmware on my C7000v2 Cable modem/wifi rounter. Everything here says firmware updates must be pushed from my ISP. However, I OWN the modem, not my ISP. So, they won't touch it, because it's not THEIR property. It's MY modem.

So... How can I get the latest firmware installed on a modem that I own??

The nighthawk app doesn't allow me to logon (the ever common timeout issue...)

Appreciate any thoughts or help.

   Why?

So far as I know, everything everyplace agrees.

I'd stick with a web browser.  Less Netgear software involved that
way.

Thoughts are easier than actual help in this case.

Re: C7000v2 Firmware Update

I have the issue where I am trying to use the Nighthawk app and it tells me the firmware needs to be updated and says to connect to routerlogin.net but when I do it says I'm not connected to the wifi on the router. Now I have a newer laptop with no ethernet port so I am using my S21 Ultra to try to do everything and I turn my mobile data off so that I would only be connected to the internet from the router which was successful and I had internet but the page kept saying that I wasn't connected to the routers internet. But if I type in the router IP I connect with no issue and I have internet. So why does the app not work at all? I tried to reboot the modem/router and I even tried a power cycle. I also turned on the allowed access to bypass the routerlogin but nothing is working. And my guess is the app will continue to not work until I can update the firmware. My ISP is Spectrum I already went on their website and switched my service over to this modem/router. So is there something I missed? Something I have done wrong? Any help would be appreciated thanks ahead of time.

Your problem is unrelated to the problem which was being discussed in
this thread.  Starting your own, new thread for your own, different
problem would have been better.

As explained above, you can't do that for a C7000; only a lame app
would suggest it.

That's a lame error message combined with a DNS "problem".

It's a lame app?  What, exactly, does "not work at all" mean to you?

Do you have a problem with the app, other than that it advises you to
do a firmware update which would be impossible for you to do?

My guess is that your guess is wrong.

> [...] Something I have done wrong? [...]

Expected more from Netgear than you're likely to get, in the way of
documentation and software quality?
