C7000v2 - Will Adding a Router Improve Speed?

Hi, I'm having the common issue of buying 800mbps wifi from Xfinity but i can only achieve up to 250mbps Wifi speeds with my C7000v2 router/modem combo. I'm wondering if I add a more powerful router to the C7000v2 will I achieve speeds closer to 800mbps?

You might get closer to those speeds wired. 

the wireless is more about what device you're using. 

The C7000 is a pretty solid router but you can only expect 250-350mbps out of it. 

the c7000 also has the option of modem only mode so you could put it in that and just upgrade the router. 

Again, it depends on what device you're testing with/using but you can upgrade pretty easily
