C7000v2 slow internet on Spectrum
I have a C7000v2 that "should" be capable of speeds up to 960Mbps, but using it as modem with my Spectrum internet, I am usually getting an average speed of 10-50 Mbps. I talked to Spectrum and they are claiming that my modem falls under their "minimally qualified modems" and that my modem isn't capable of handling the 200 Mbps that I am paying for. According to their techs, my modem is recieving 200 Mbps, but the equipment isn't capable of handling the speed. Can someone please explain to me why there is this massive disconnect? Thanks!

Re: C7000v2 slow internet on Spectrum
The C7000 is DOCSIS®3.0. Some ISP required the modem to support DOCSIS®3.1
Even though technically the C7000 can support up to around 900Mbps, the DOCSIS will be a factor and thats up to the ISP. My ISP supports 900Mbps on there Gb service, however they require a DOCSIS 3.1 modem. The C7800 I have is a 3.1 modem.

Re: C7000v2 slow internet on Spectrum
The above information might not be accurate, as the modem router that they provided me with is a 'Arris TG1672G' which is a DOCSIS 3.0 Dual Band, I have the 300mbps service and once I switched the router modem with the 'AC1900 -model C7000v2 DOCSIS 3.0 my speeds dropped to 100mbps and uploads to 11mbps, this just makes me think that they lowered the speeds. horrible spectrum.

Re: C7000v2 slow internet on Spectrum
You'll need to contact your ISP and have them help you with getting the C7000 speeds up. They need to check the signal and line quality UP to the modem.
Be sure that there are no coax cable line splitters in between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure you are using good quality RG6 coax cabling up to the modem.
Your issue has nothing to do with DOCSIS versions.
