C7800 no ethernet, support claims router is three years old

Bought a new C7800 from amazon yesterday, got it today, no ethernet connections work.
NAT is enabled.
Tried contacting Netgear, they claim the router is 3+ years old and I have to purchase extended support.
Any thoughts on:
1) Why they think a brand new router is over three years old
2) Why I have no ethernet connections through the router, wireless connections: only 1 at a time.

1. It wouldn't be the first product I've seen returned to amazon and resold.
2. Or it could have been from a 3rd party seller on amazon.
3. You can contact support to dispute the purchase date or what might be faster, is to exchange it through amazon. Amazon has a fairly easy return policy and it might be faster than trying to RMA the device.
4. did you try a simple factory reset? If it was a return/resale, it might have been setup. Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on.

Re: C7800 no ethernet, support claims router is three years old
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing: someone returned their used router to Amazon and left me holding the bag. I *did* try the factory reset, no joy.
Already hit Amazon up for a replacement, hopefully they don't ship this one to some other poor slob! lol
Thanks for the reply.

Please let Amazon know that this one unit should be returned to NG. IF this is a HW issue, it needs to be returned to NG for review.
