CAX30 How to block remote Web Access
Hello,
I cannot find a way to block Remote Web Access to my Modem/Router.
If I browse to my IP address it opens the login page of the Modem/Router>
I would like to block remote access.
Thanks

Re: CAX30 How to block remote Web Access
Is this happening while your not at home and at a remote location?
Do you have Anywhere access enabled with in the Nighthawk app under Settings?
Do you see Remote Management under Advanced tab/Admin?
What FW version is loaded on the modem?

Re: CAX30 How to block remote Web Access
I get my Public IP Address of my cable modem.
I connect from another network, specifically ATT mobile or Starlink.
I start any browser, I insert the cable IP address and I get the
page of the CAX30 login.
Under Advance I have
-Security
-Administration
-Advanced Setup
and none of them have Remote management
Hardware Version:
V1.01
Firmware Version:
V1.4.10.8
Cable Firmware Version:
V1.04.09
I do have Anywhere access on the app, I just checked.
I am going to try to disable it.
PS: I have also a Netgear R7800 Router and that one has the option to turn Web Rccess Remotely off. That is why I am surprised that CAX30 does not have it.

Re: CAX30 How to block remote Web Access
Are you connected locally with the CAX when you open up the NH app? Should be able to disable Anywhere Access while connected locally.
Also select the locally connected CAX30 entry from the NH app as it may show both Locally and a Cloud Icon, this means your app is connected thru the cloud instead of locally.
FYI, NG is removing Remote Management Access from Orbi, CAX and Nighthawk router UIs. I believe maybe a security concern so that won't be available in recent FW versions of R7800 and anything else. Only access will be Anywhere Access if enabled on the Nighthawk app.

Re: CAX30 How to block remote Web Access
You might reach out to NG support and ask for additional help and information on this.
https://my.netgear.com/support/contact.aspx
Might try a reset on the CAX30 and setup from scratch using a wired PC and web browser.
