Cable Modem
Need help I was thinking about buying a cable modem to replace my AT&T modem but haven't seen if any of the Netgear modems that say they are compatible with At&t.

Why? Is there some actual problem which you are trying to solve?
What is your "my AT&T modem"? Maker? Model? Is it a DSL
modem(+router?), or a cable-TV-type modem(+router?), or what?
Possession of some basic information about what you have might make
it easier to choose a suitable replacement for it.

Re: Cable Modem
what is the model # of the modem you currently have?
It's best to check with ISPs first to see that they support. Some ISP don't allow for user owed modems.

Re: Cable Modem

As a quick Web search would reveal, that's a DSL modem+router;
different technology from cable-TV. If you're keeping the same Internet
service, then a "Cable Modem" would be useless to you.

Still wondering.

Re: Cable Modem
You'll need to ask the ISP if this gateway modem is required by them for your services. Sometimes this can't be removed. I know ATT has there own modems and routers for some of there services which can't be removed.
Good Luck.

I don't see why you'd need to ask.
If an Arris BGW210-700 is working now, with either a DSL or Ethernet
WAN connection, then, whether it's "required" or not, I fail to see how
a "Cable Modem" (or, for that matter, a cable modem+router/gateway),
with its cable-TV co-axial cable WAN port would be of any use as a
replacement. But I'm always open to enlightenment.
