Can I use a AX6000 (WAX630) Tri-Band PoE Access Point with my CAX80 Cable Modem Router?
I have a CAX80 Cable Model Router and a EAX80 Extender configured as an access point, both in the AX6000 WiFi 6 family. The home we just bought has an old Rukus PoE access point in the ceiling of a room from a previous installation which is wired to where my router currently is. Can I replace that with the WAX630 (AX6000) PoE access point? That is, will it be compatible with what I have? I know the WAX630 needs to be connected to a PoE switch for power which I can do. However I see that the WAX630 is managed by Insight whereas the CAX80 and EAX80 are managed by the Nighthawk app. If not, is there a PoE access point that is compatible with what I have?
Thanks
EDIT: Ok I see that I can use the local browser in the WAX630 for the configuration instead of Insight. Would like to know if it will be compatible though before I buy it - thank you

What is the sq ft size of this home?
Reason for asking is that if your have the CAX and EAX in place, these two may be all that you need for wifi coverage. Having too many wifi signals and sources can be problematic.

It's about 2900 sqft. The reason I thought to pop the netgear in is that there is already Rukus AP installed and wired into the ceiling with cabling back to the router location. The Rukus is now useless of course and so taking it out will leave a hole and a cable in the ceiling. My thought was to just swap something else in

Why not leave it there for now. Not connected or plugged in. Try the CAX and EAX out and see how those do. 30 feet or more is recommended in between CAX and EAX to begin with depending upon building materials. For that size of home and good placement, I think you'll find these two more then adequate.
