You could exchange it where ever you purchased it. Most placed have an exchange policy with a certain window. If its only a couple days, you should still be within that window but check with wherever you purchased it.

Is it plugged in correct both to the outlet and the back of the modem? If it is, I'd return/exchange it. You might have gotten a defective item. If you're outside of your return window, you can open a support ticket with Netgear for warranty exchange.
