Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
So basically we had a 100mb down/30up connection and we decided to upgrade it to a gigabit connection and we had to upgrade both our modem and router. We got the CM1100 and the nighthawk x6S r7900p. Since then I have been able to get consistent 700 down and 30up, but in a lot of games issues persist where it would feel like there is constant stuttering without any packet loss or high ping. I already talked to my ISP which is cox and they said there is no issues from their side which I would seem to agree with because there was no stuterring or lag before we switch modem and router.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
Be sure your testing the CM1100 modem wiith out the router online. The CM1100 is well capable of near 900Mpbs speeds on the wire.
Be sure to disable LAG on the modem.
Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem. Be sure the ISP provisions the modem correctly.
Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.
Be sure to power OFF the modem for 1 minute them back ON.

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
I did do all of those as soon as you posted. I called my ISP to re-provision my modem, and for them to check the signal to my house. The problem still persists. When I get these weird spikes, I go to cmd and do ping -n 100 www.google.com and most packets are under 20ms but some of them are over 300ms which is why i think I see these problems persist without having any higher ping than usual or packet loss, but I have no idea how to fix it.

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
Are you testing with a wired PC directly connected to the modem alone or thru the router?
Has a factory reset been performed on the modem?

All those critical 3 events are ISP signal related. ISP needs to check the signal on the line.

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
Yes I did both of those things and this is the cmd test pinging to www.google.com and as you can see it fluctuates a lot sometimes there is a huge spike.

I will contact my ISP again a bit later in the night since there is a need for my wifi right now.

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
I'd ask the ISP for one of there modems so you can test one of theres. If the problem continues with one of there modems, this would be and ISP issue still. The ISP needs to check there signal on the line up to the modem, you should send them the modems logs.
Can you post the connection status table from your modem?
Would be something like this:

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
Channel 15 is showing some uncorrectables.
You have channel 5 on the upstream locked in. Mines only got 4. Upspeed is 50Mb
What speed UP and down do you pay for?

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
For that up speed wonder why you have channel 5 locked in. I have 50Mb on the Up and only get 4 channels locked in.
Still, your ISP needs to take a closer look at your service line and signals up to the modem.

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
So I got in contact with my ISP and they said that the signal up to the modem is good and that the provisioning was set up correctly. Anything else I can do?

Try a different modem and see if the problem continues or not.

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
So basically whenever that lag happens with no ping spikes or packet loss this is what shows up in my router logs. Is that an actual DDOS attack?

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
I looked up other solutions and that is just a false positive. What I did that seemed to fix it so far was change my DNS server from the ISP one to cloudflare. So far so good!

Re: Having a lot of issues with internet since switching to CM1100
Still having the same issue as before with high variance in ping in online games. When I do ping in the cmd I get around 20-30ms for gooogle while every 10-20sec there is a packet that takes over 150ms and sometimes over 300ms.
