NETGEAR Cable Modem CM1000 -Drops connection intermittently
Hello All,
Thanks for looking here
I have a Netgear CM1000 Cable modem that I bought last year. Just after the warranty expired on it, I started experiencing intermittent connectivity issues with it. It is working well and all of a sudden, it isn't. I tried power cycling, removing all the cables, etc. and nothing works. The only thing that works is going to my Xfinity account and use their software to reset the modem. Even that sometimes doesn't work.
It used to happen every few days but it is now happening daily.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Frank

Re: NETGEAR Cable Modem CM1000 -Drops connection intermittently
Be sure there are not coax cable line splitters between the modem and ISP service box.
Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.

Re: NETGEAR Cable Modem CM1000 -Drops connection intermittently
If the ISP has checked there side and the signal and quality is to spec to them UP to the modem and you've ensure there are no coax cable line splitters in between the modem and ISP service box and your using good quality RG6 coax cabling up to the modem, try a different modem and see if the problem happens again or not. You could have a faulty modem.

I have started having the same thing happen with my CM1000 in the last week. ISP ran some tests and is pointing their finger at the modem.
