No internet connection with C6300 cable modem/router - No Ethernet cable plugged in

About once or twice a week I wakeup my desktop PC and see a icon (lower right corner) that indicates I have no internet connection. When I run the network troubleshooter (right click on icon) it says to plug my ethernet cable in. I have replaced the cable with another know good cable but the problem continues to return (albeit intermittently). If I unplug the ethernet cable from the port of my Netgear C6300 and plug it back in to the same or other port, the internet connection is restored. I am running Windows 10 Home 64-bit OS on my Desktop Tower PC (Dell). My internet provider is Cox Communications through their cable with up to 100 Mbps of speed. My Netgear Firware version is V1.02.20 Any assistance you can provide me in solving this problem would be appreciated.

Well, it's been a few weeks of error free performance since I replaced the Netgear C6300. Thus, I am closing this inquiry as "FIXED".

Re: No internet connection with C6300 cable modem/router - No Ethernet cable plugged in
I checked and didn't find any new Ethernet driver. Since my post I decided to replace my C6300 router/modem with another Netgear C6300 about a week ago. Fortunantly I purchased a 2-year free replacement contract from Best Buy and it didn't cost me anything for the replacement. So far, the new C6300 is working well without any "no internet access" problems (knocking on wood as I speak). After a couple of more weeks of error free performance I'll close this posting. Thanks for your suggestion and follow up. Happy New Year!
