Im wanting to get in touch with both sides (netgear and virgin media) to try and get them to do modem only, like they do in the usa. Im fed up of the superhubs they make and looks like the hub3 problem with the puma 6 chipset isnt going to be fixed any time soon another year at most.
Its about time virgin let people who want to use their own modems and their own routers instead of the all in one they offer.
Give people a choice what they want to use.
The last modem they did was so good after a few firmware updates for it. It was the VMNG300!
that only had 4 downstreams on it and 4 upstreams but it would perform better than the superhub1 and the superhub2 and the shac2 they had 8 downstreams and 4 upstreams at peak time with the vmng300 in it would pull 90 meg in a area hit with way to many people on it at night back up to 125 meg down and 12 meg up when put any of the superhubs in with own router i would be hitting 20 to 25 meg at peak times sometimes 15 meg then at night back to 125 meg that had 4 more downstreams to play with.
Im wanting to get a CM1000 and use it on the virgin media network along with my netgear x4s want to get back to good gaming online.
Anyone with any emails i could try to get the ball rolling would be very helpful
or any ideas to get virgin to start doing it modem only.
